Wimbledon Popularity

As Wimbledon is considered The tennis tournament to happen during the year, there are a vast number of both punters and bookies involved in betting on it. This means two things. Firstly there is a large number of choices when it comes to placing a bet. Different bookies offer different odds and different wagers. It is always in your interest to shop around until you find the site that suits your needs best. Many betting sites will also offer bonuses or promotions to new bettors. Be sure to read the fine print of any offer from a betting site.

The second result of such a big interest in the tournament is the bettors. Public opinion will play a big role in increasing or decreasing the odds of each player and each match. Do not be swayed by this without doing some checking for yourself. Crowd mentality is not always the wisest choice when it comes to placing a wager.

Court Surface

Wimbledon is the only one of the Grand Slam titles to still be played on grass. This will have a big effect on how the players perform. Many players have grown up playing other surfaces such as clay or cement. Cement is the preferred modern surface and is used by most tournaments in America. When placing a bet on a player or a match, do some research into how the player has performed in the past on grass. Just because they are one of the top players in the world does not mean that they can play on Wimbledon’s court surface.
